I just recently found out that I should be careful how to describe the ‘denomination’ of our former church in Amsterdam. I have often named it ‘Brethern Church’, but I think it is not entirely correct. Many Brethern Churches have Mennonite origins, and although Menno Simons was a Dutchman, our former church is definitely not Mennonite. The better description would be ‘Brethern Assembly’, with its origins in Ireland and England, with people like John Nelson Darby, George M├╝ller, Mackintosh, Kelly.

I tried to find some good internet resources in English on this subject, but I couldn’t find a whole lot. So, if you know something, let me know!
