Today my cousin Annemiek was with us. Her parents are on holiday, but she has final exams for school next week, so she came by to rehearse and go over the study material once again. So, there we were, all day working on “Organisation and Management” in the backyard with 30 Centigrade or so… and we even had fun with it. It was a long time ago since we had seen her, but it felt like yesterday. Tomorrow will be another beach day, we deserved it!
Yes, it’s holiday time and it is extremely hot weather – so not much of blogging activity.
To make it up: this weekend we went to Zeeland to Mira’s sister and had a great time at the beach!!
I’m pretty sure Mira does not like this picture 🙂
We went to the zoo today. A far drive, but very much worth it. Rosa and Sara both loved it, as did mom and dad 🙂 This particular zoo is known for its special setup, without fences and cages; almost all animals are in open spaces, grouped by continent, sometimes even in the same area. There is an African savanne with girafs, impalas, hyppos, ostriches, zebras all together – just beautiful. My favorite was the Asian Tiger, incredibly beautiful. You can see the power and the ‘majesty’ of the animal, but I was particularly struck by its beautifully colored, clean fur, so different from most animals that either are dirty or have camouflage colors.
The last time we went to the zoo was two years ago, in Tyler Texas. That was a great zoo too, the best was it had free entrance (unlike the one today:-))
Today Sara turns one! Isn’t that great. She is an adorable little girl, and we hope we will enjoy her for all years to come.
