I just recently found out that I should be careful how to describe the ‘denomination’ of our former church in Amsterdam. I have often named it ‘Brethern Church’, but I think it is not entirely correct. Many Brethern Churches have Mennonite origins, and although Menno Simons was a Dutchman, our former church is definitely not Mennonite. The better description would be ‘Brethern Assembly’, with its origins in Ireland and England, with people like John Nelson Darby, George Müller, Mackintosh, Kelly.

I tried to find some good internet resources in English on this subject, but I couldn’t find a whole lot. So, if you know something, let me know!
