Moving, doing

It’s Monday morning, and I’m sitting at my desk, staring at the screen. As is often the case, I need some time (& coffee) to get started after the weekend – nothing seems to come out of my hands yet. Ironically, yesterday I spoke at the Christengemeente Amsterdam about stepping out and moving forward, and later that day we also talked about being doers and not only hearers of the Word. Maybe that’s the difference between Sunday and Monday? And now that I am thinking about it: it might be a much bigger issue than just the Monday morning. Maybe God is calling his people to get out of the armchairs and go do something. Yes, you could think of very spiritual things like heal the sick & raise the dead, but according to James it is not very fancy: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world. Honestly speaking, it is much more difficult to practice than to preach…

Anyway. I’ll finish my coffee and start doing something.
